Katrina Lewis Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mb BCh, FRCS Eng, FRCS Orth, MSc Orthopaedic Engineering
I was born and attended medical school in Cardiff.
I qualified in 1987 then trained as an orthopaedic surgeon in South Wales, Oswestry and Australia. I was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt (Oswestry) and Wrexham Maelor Hospitals in march 1999. My special interests include all aspects of hand and wrist surgery as well as some shoulder and elbow problems. I still have an acute trauma commitment at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
I have a strong commitment to maintaining surgical excellence. I train junior doctors and am a member of the court of examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons (England and Wales). I have also supervised MSc theses and am a designated supervisory medical practitioner for nursing and physiotherapy staff as an ongoing commitment to research and development of orthopaedic services.
